Child Protection in Angus
Training
Angus Child Protection Committee's interagency child protection training programme offers a range of training to help meet individual and agency-driven requirements, and ultimately to help staff and volunteers in Angus to update and progress their skills, and improve outcomes for the children and families that they work with.
The training courses fit into levels 1-4:
LEVEL 1 - Awareness Raising
This training is suitable for those who have direct or indirect contact with children, young people and their families.
"Roles & Responsibilities" should be completed prior to any other training.
LEVEL 2 - Foundation
Learning at this level is for those who work directly with children and young people and need to know about the child protection process and how it impacts on daily practice.
LEVEL 3 - Investigation, Assessment, Prevention & Recovery
Should be accessed by skilled practitioners working in complex situations who have progressed through previous levels, and have a direct role within the child protection process.
LEVEL 4 - Advanced & Specialist, Managing Child Protection
Specifically aimed at more experienced staff and their managers working within child protection, including those who manage / assess risk.
It is essential that staff have completed single agency Basic Awareness child protection training, and Level 1 "Roles & Responsibilities" interagency training prior to applying for training at any other level. Applicants should also be familiar with the ACPC Interagency Guidelines for Professional Staff and know where to source a copy.
There is also the ACPC Introduction Module to child protection which can be accessed online using the preceeding link.
