Officer Support for the Child Protection Committee

Support for the Angus Child Protection Committee is provided by three key members of staff. Child protection must be seen as part of everyone's job and must be given a high priority by all agencies working with children and families. There is however a need for specific support for the Angus Child Protection Committee to co-ordinate and implement its work.

A Senior Planning Officer, Child Protection to work with the Angus Child Protection Committee in the delivery of it's core business functions; to work with the Chair to ensure the effective operation of the Child Protection Committee and to work with agencies to co-ordinate cross-service initiatives and programmes. The Development Manager is responsible for maintaining an independent overview of inter-agency child protection activity and takes the lead role in ensuring continuous improvement. The Development Manager has supervisory responsibility for the following posts.

A Child Protection Training Co-ordinator. The Co-ordinator responsible for leading and assuring the quality and delivery of inter-agency child protection training on behalf of the Child Protection Committee. Along with the Lead Officer they play a key role in the promotion of good practice by ensuring these contribute to improved outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.

A Senior Clerical Officer who supports the Senior Planning Officer, Child Protection, the Training Co-ordinator, Executive Group for Child Protection, the Child Protection Committee and its sub groups.

The Child Protection Committee Support Team is currently based at St Margaret's House, Orchardbank Business Park, Orchardbank, Forfar DD8 1WS. They work Monday - Friday and their contact details are as follows:
